Game 1:
Fife Phantoms 14 - 13 Angus Stars
The Fife Phantoms had a great morning at Strathallan. The Phantoms athletes had two matches, against Angus Stars and Tayside Jets. It was really exciting for the girls as we didn't know how the other teams performed and what a superb way to start. The Angus game was tight all the way through the match, the Phantoms pulled away and Angus came right back at us, it was great to see the athletes perform on both sides with the pressure of the play.
Game 2:
Tayside Jets 17 - 16 Fife Phantoms
Tayside brought the Phantoms team a different game by pulling away in the the first quarter. At the first team talk Sandra asked the girls to dig deep and what a performance the girls showed on court by bringing the game right back to one goal. Exciting.
Coach Thoughts: It was great to see a mixed experienced team today. How they came together and played their matches, the Tayside match was a hard game for those athletes, but to turn the game around. Amazing to see that attitude. Let's keep going.
Fife Phantoms would like to Thank, Strathallan for being a great host.
Good luck to Angus and Tayside for their future matches. 🙂.

It was absolutely fabulous to see the new U13 Fife Phantom Team on court playing their first ever 1st Division match. It was great to see how the Fife Phantoms work so hard throughout the whole match with only 7 players.
The game was very competitive from start to finish with great standard of play from both teams. The final scoreline unfortunately did not do the Phantoms team justice and did not reflect the work rate and effort they put in to the game.
Well Done Girls, especially to Eden for Player of the match.
Final Score: Perth 53 Fife Phantoms 2
Coach Thoughts: The athletes that were on court was playing their hardest, putting their heart and soul into the game and was amazing to watch. Those girls are a credit The Phantoms club and it was such a pleasure to observe. Very proud.
Also a big thanks to both umpires, Emma and Lucy..
All the best to Perth for their future matches and . 🙂.

This game was exciting from start to finish, full of contest and the willingness to get the win with the 1st Quarter ending in a draw. Peebles came out with the determination to get the upper hand on the Phantoms squad, with great game control and playing their game. The Phantoms athletes dug deep and what a match the second half produced with neck and neck gameplay from both ends.

This game was a thrilling game to watch, with lots of competitive contest throughout the entire match. The Phantoms gained a small lead after the first quarter. The 2nd quarter gave more excitement, with Stirling Giants putting pressure on the Phantoms side with direct movement onto the passage of play, this quarter ended up in a draw.
After the half time team talk, with input from Violet (Captain ) and Anna (VC), the Phantoms side really settled into their gameplay. A great third quarter saw the Phantoms pull away and gain a 16 goal cushion. The final quarter saw Stirling recover and they came back strongly to win the final quarter narrowly. However, the Phantoms held on for a convincing win.
Well done to the Phantoms girls, and a particular well done to our Vice Captain Anna for player of the match.
1st Quarter: Fife Phantoms 8 - 4 Stirling Giants
2nd Quarter: Fife Phantoms 6 - 6 Stirling Giants
3rd Quarter: Fife Phantoms 13 - 1 Stirling Giants
4th Quarter: Fife Phantoms 5 - 6 Stirling Giants
Coach Thoughts: Great display of competitive play from both sides, great to see for Scottish Netball. Fabulous to see the Phantoms players when we lost control of the game, the determination to win that ball back. Great enthusiasm from the Squad yesterday. Very proud.
Also, would like to Thank Neil and Fiona for being our match official’s (Scorer and Timekeeper respectively).

What a great way to end the FNA tournaments for 2024. Seeing our new players taking court and doing so well with the team.
The Phantom Squad was a tight unit throughout the season, coming on leaps and bounds as a team.
The first two tournaments, the Phantoms stay unbeaten so fantastic work to the players involved. The next two tournaments seen us take a draw and 2 loses, but as a coach was thrilled to see the Phantom team coming runners up in the FNA tournament this seaon
Thanks to the teams that played against the Phantoms, great to see the sportsmanship in the younger squads.
All the best for the next season and well done to Kirkcaldy for being the winners.
Coaches Thoughts: Really loved this season as a Coach as watching the development of these players to stand their own, on a netball court, physically and mentally. Fantastic to see.
Looking forward to next season with you all.

What a thrilling and exciting match to finish the CNA season on. This match had every aspect of netball that kept everyone on the edge of their seats, was amazing to watch two strong teams going against each other in a great sporting way. Well done to both teams!
CNA has been amazing for the Fife Phantoms side as they have not been defeated this season in this league. Well done team ❤️.
1st Quarter started out very strong for the Kirkcaldy team getting 4 goals on the board even before the Phantoms scored, so the Phantoms team was having to play catch up from this point against a great attacking Kirkcaldy side.
2nd Quarter brought a different Phantoms side out with everyone wanting to get a win and came out with passion. The Phantoms did it with style by settling into their roles and communicating well with precise ball passing and quick movement.
3rd Quarter was the same kind of play for the Phantoms, this quarter changed the defensive pressure with the Phantoms playing a tight game both attacking and defence.
4th Quarter Kirkcaldy came back on the Phantoms team with great pressure and the game could have went either way as it was neck and neck throughout this quarter bringing excitement to the game with the high level play. Phantoms secured the win by scoring 10 secs from the end.
1st Quarter: Fife Phantoms 2 - 6 Kirkcaldy Panthers
2nd Quarter: Fife Phantoms 3 - 1 Kirkcaldy Panthers
3rd Quarter: Fife Phantoms 7 - 4 Kirkcaldy Panthers
4th Quarter: Fife Phantoms 6 - 6 Kirkcaldy Panthers
Coach Thoughts: Looking at my thoughts of the game with a wider perspective, where this team was last season, losing all their games, to where they are now, turning it around in a season by working well with the coaching team, has been amazing to watch their development and knowledge in Netball. SUPERB!!!
Good luck to Kirkcaldy next season and we look forward to our future matches 🙂.

It was great to see the Primary Squad performing again at another FNA Tournament, playing against other Fife Club.
Fife Phantoms played 4 matches, winning the first 3 games. Unfortunately we came up against an in form Kirkcaldy team in our final match and lost our first match of the season at this level.
The tournament day brought a lot of superb team work up and down the court. seeing different combinations in our shooting area and defence, showing flexibility within the Phantoms Squad.
This tournament day really develops our players mentally and physically within their team environment giving players more court time.
Good luck to the other teams in future matches.
Coach Thoughts: Lovely seeing all players take court and see what they bring to the team. As the Coach, I am observing different dynamics within the team as players are developing their understanding of their roles. Well done for their great performance.

What a thrilling match to watch from start to finish. Great performance from the Phantoms Squad winning all the quarters in this match.
Team talk at the start at the match was to apply pressure right from the word go with contest on the ball, this created a 7 goal lead for the Phantom Squad going into the 2nd quarter.
The next 3 quarters were much tighter, with contest coming from both sides. Goals was happening from both ends putting pressure on both teams to be well disciplined throughout the entire match. Phantoms came out on top by winning the game 45 - 32.
1st Quarter: Holyrood Highlanders 6 - 13 Fife Phantoms
2nd Quarter: Holyrood Highlanders 9 - 11 Fife Phantoms
3rd Quarter: Holyrood Highlanders 8 - 10 Fife Phantoms
4th Quarter: Holyrood Highlanders 9 - 11 Fife Phantoms

The Phantoms knew that this game was going to be at a great standard from start to finish and were really up for the challenge. Right from the warm up they were ready to go into this game with all guns blazing.
The Phantoms girls didn't disappoint and the match was not reflected by the score line at all. Phantoms head coach Sandra observed contest on ball and a high tempo match that was enjoyable to watch. Perth City were well drilled and sustained pressure was on the phantoms athletes throughout the match, forcing errors as well as making intercepts. However , the Phantoms team stuck at it getting their own intercepts in and creating chances of their own.
A great experience for the Phantoms side for developing their skills and mental toughness.
1st Quarter: Fife Phantoms 1 - 16 Perth City
2nd Quarter: Fife Phantoms 4 – 22 Perth City
3rd Quarter: Fife Phantoms 3 - 16 Perth City
4th Quarter: Fife Phantoms 3 - 14 Perth City
Coaches Thoughts: Great to see that the Phantoms head never went down for the whole match. They kept their head into this really hard match and took a lot of positives away with the Squad after their debrief. Fabulous to see that progression.
Well done to Perth City! What an excellent team sitting 1st in the league. Good luck to Perth in future matches.

Saturday's match between Fife Phantoms and Stirling Dragons was a crucial one for us, considering our position at the top of the league. With other teams nipping at our heels, we knew that every goal could count, especially as the season nears its end. So, our goal was clear from the outset: aim for the highest scoreline possible.
Being a P7 team up against P5/6s, we were lucky to have the advantage of experience. But we never underestimate our opponents. Our pre-game talk centered on maintaining energy levels and sticking to our game plan.
The match didn't start as smoothly as we'd hoped. Possession swung back and forth, and errors crept in. But as the game progressed, we found our rhythm. Working the ball in and out of the shooting circle became key, and we made good use of short bounce passes to create better shooting opportunities.
In the second quarter, we were reminded of the importance of communication on court. Once we got that back on track, our energy skyrocketed, leading to our best-scoring quarter.
By the third quarter, we were enjoying ourselves, although communication began to falter slightly. But we kept our focus and maintained control of the game.
In the final quarter, the Dragons came out fighting, the scoreline at the beginning of the quarter was in their favour with some impressive goals. Despite their efforts, our defense held strong, ensuring our lead remained.
1st Quarter: Stirling Dragons 0 - 0 Fife Phantoms
2nd Quarter: Stirling Dragons 0 – 0 Fife Phantoms
3rd Quarter: Stirling Dragons 0 - 0 Fife Phantoms
4th Quarter: Stirling Dragons 0 - 0 Fife Phantoms
Good luck in your future matches Stirling.

Well done! Phantoms for winning each quarter, this game was a very tight for the first three quarters for our athletes. All athletes kept working.
Quarter breaks brought a lot of different combination back on court. Team talks were about contest and pressure on our opposing team, as they were building confidence throughout the match on their attack. Phantoms did change this game around in the last quarter by changing tactics defensively, this made the score line get out of the reach for EUNC bringing another win to the Phantoms.
1st Quarter: EUNC E 4 - 6 Fife Phantoms
2nd Quarter: EUNC E 5 - 6 Fife Phantoms
3rd Quarter: EUNC E 4 - 9 Fife Phantoms
4th Quarter: EUNC E 3 - 16 Fife Phantoms
Coach Thoughts: I am looking at this as a whole season and very well done for a great season of development as a Squad. I have noticed over the last two games the reduction of contest on ball defensively. Key point for going forward to the last game of the season.
Good luck to EUNC in future matches.

What an exciting and thrilling match from start to finish from the both teams. This game showcased how you can compete at a higher level and show great sportsmanship when contesting the ball. Both team displayed great self discipline throughout the match.
Well done to the Phantoms Squad by showing confidence in their team when ball possession wasn't in our favour.
Also, there weren't many tactical changes made within the Phantoms Squad at the intervals and this proved to be key to their success and performance. Another achievement for the Phantoms.
1st Quarter: Fife Phantoms 11 - 7 Kinross Titans
2nd Quarter: Fife Phantoms 11 – 8 Kinross Titans
3rd Quarter: Fife Phantoms 9 - 10 Kinross Titans

What an amazing game for the Fife Phantoms with a win in all 4 quarters.
It was great to see different combination on court throughout this match, showing more flexibility within the Phantoms Squad.
Edinburgh Emeralds throughout the entire game gave an impressive defensive pressure to the Phantoms. Phantoms step up their game play by showing key elements of Netball to combat the defensive pressure from the Emerald by executing multi directional changes with precise timing.
1st Quarter: Edinburgh Emeralds 5 - 8 Fife Phantoms
2nd Quarter: Edinburgh Emeralds 6 - 14 Fife Phantoms
3rd Quarter: Edinburgh Emeralds 6 - 10 Fife Phantoms
4th Quarter: Edinburgh Emeralds 7 - 11 Fife Phantoms
Coach Thoughts: It was impressive to see new combination working well under the defensive pressure in the game. When Phantoms lost ball possession, great to observe the way the team set up so quickly to regain ball, great development over this season which has brought much success to the team. Another great game for us. Well done everyone!

Great to see the Squad out again, getting experience in the CNA 1st Division league.
This game was a tight and competitive match for the Phantoms side with Stirling Jets fighting for ball possession throughout the entire match. Phantoms could not get into their stride this match, due to lack of movement to get ball possession with the pressure from the Stirling Jets.
Team talks highlighted not to stay behind play and try and get front position. Sandra (Coach) adjusted the team accordingly to bring this to their game play, this game wasn't in the Phantoms favour this time. Well done to Stirling Jets in this tight match. Good luck in your future games.
1st Quarter: Phantoms 6 - 7 Stirling Jets
2nd Quarter: Phantoms 4 - 8 Stirling Jets
3rd Quarter: Phantoms 3 - 7 Stirling Jets

It is great to see the Fife Phantoms athletes take court in the second round of the Scottish Cup against the Bass Rocketeers.
This match was a great experience for our athletes. Bass Rocketeers was out to win from the word go, with multi directional movement at high speed, plus working as a solid unit throughout the entire match winning every quarter from the Phantoms.
Phantoms were not dishearten by their performance from the Rocketeers, as a tight knit Squad the Phantoms progression in this match was phenomenal with the comeback in the 3rd Quarter with a tight score line, keys factors were highlighted at their team talk, the Coaching Team, Sandra and Lois, which the athletes listened and took onboard...
1st Quarter: Phantoms 6 – 15 Bass Rocketeers
2nd Quarter: Phantoms 6 – 15 Bass Rocketeers
3rd Quarter: Phantoms 7 - 11 Bass Rocketeers
4th Quarter: Phantoms 6 - 17 Bass Rocketeers

What a intense start this was for the Fife Phantoms in the first quarter with Napier pressure throughout the court having an impact on our performance and ball placement. Napier had a big presence in our shooting area and this kept the two teams very tight throughout the first quarter. Fife Phantoms came out triumphally winning the quarter by 4 goals.
At the first quarter team break, Sandra made a couple of tactical changes to bring more familiar combination to the attacking side for the 2nd quarter. Kate (GS) and Violet (GA) executed their roles with great pose and precise shooting with the support from Jenny and Bonnie working as a tight unit around the circle edge, making the goal line stretch to an 18 goal lead at the end of the 2nd quarter.
Going into the third quarter Sandra kept the team roughly the same to see if the performance can continue with only one change. Napier came out with full determination and started putting the Fife Phantoms under immense pressure with our players now not making a clear decision and going for ball. Hard work from our defence Anna and Lauren with great turnovers kept the score line tight, unfortunately the Phantoms lost this quarter by 5 goals.
Last quarter, Sandra made tactical team changes to bring new combination and a different flare to the game due to players being on court having done their roles successfully needed to be rested for future games. First centre pass was a success for the Phantoms and it continued throughout this quarter with more new combination developing for the Phantoms Squad.
1st Quarter: Napier Uni 6 - 10 Phantoms
2nd Quarter: Napier Uni 4 - 18 Phantoms
3rd Quarter: Napier Uni 11 - 6 Phantoms
4th Quarter: Napier Uni 10 - 12 Phantoms
Coaches Thought: Yet again another great performance!. This game provided different challenges to the Phantoms side. Hard work was apparent to our success, working together as a unit with effective communication skills.

Wow, what a nail-biting match this was to watch from start to finish, with both teams fighting all the way to the final whistle.
The 1st quarter was kicked off with a Phantoms centre pass and saw some excellent goals from both Evie and Emily. The girls had to fight hard to gain and keep possession, Ella managed to get in a few vital intercepts to ensure we weren’t far behind the Flares going into the second quarter.
The 2nd quarter was again a very tight and intense 12 minutes. This time Evie and Zoe were teaming up in the shooting circle, with Zoe proving to be unstoppable, even getting some spectacular long shots in. Emily and Elise worked hard to get the ball up to them and provide them with support and options at the edge of the circle. This hard work kept the phantoms in the hunt with the quarter drawn.
The 3rd quarter saw the Phantoms come out on top, Ella and Grace were able to defend and block an extremely talented GS in the Flares team and their determination and team work really made it difficult for the other team to score – well done! At the other end Zoe and Evie kept up their accuracy and kept the scorers busy.
Going into the final quarter with the scores level, and both teams were on fire, knowing it was all to play for. Both teams were scoring from their own centre passes and continued accurate shooting from Evie and Zoe and hard work from the mid court trio along with intercepts and pressure from Ella and Grace in defence allowed the Phantoms to keep the score to a draw.
1st Quarter: Kinross Flares 7 – 5 Phantoms
2nd Quarter: Kinross Flares 8 – 8 Phantoms
3rd Quarter: Kinross Flares 6 - 8 Phantoms
4th Quarter: Kinross Flares 9 - 9 Phantoms
Final score 30-30, well done to all players.
Coaches Thoughts: Great to see the girls being versatile within the team environment with great determination to get the win, even when we went behind in the match under pressure they still succeeded to bring their performance back and level the game. Excellent work Girls.

The first quarter was magnificent for the Fife Phantoms as the performance was at a very high standard with great linking formation of play, winning this quarter successfully.
The 2nd Quarter, Dunfermline came out with great determination, changing their ball placement to protecting the ball with lower ball feeding. This made this quarter goal for goal, ending in a draw.
The team talk going into the 3rd quarter brought more success to the Fife Phantoms Squad as the Coach Sandra communicated to her players to be more ready and aware of the ball placement. This was executed very successfully by all players with superb turnovers giving us a stronger lead going into the last quarter.
The last quarter, the Fife Phantoms were on fire. Keeping control of the quarter, with effective long ball placement, contesting every ball and precise shooting, bringing a great result to the Fife Phantoms against our strong opposition.
1st Quarter: Phantoms 8 - 5 Dunfermline
2nd Quarter: Phantoms 10 - 10 Dunfermline
3rd Quarter: Phantoms 8 - 4 Dunfermline
4th Quarter: Phantoms 11 - 3 Dunfermline
Coaches thoughts - It was impressive to see the great sportsmanlike performance in a highly contested match from the Fife Phantoms athletes. The positive mental attitude of the Fife Phantoms team was so apparent in this match and this was a proud moment for me. All athletes were confident all the way throughout, playing with poise and working as a strong unit. Well done to everyone!
Fife Phantoms wishes Dunfermline all the best in their future games.

This is an exciting time for the Fife Phantoms club to experience their first Senior Scottish Cup game. It was great to see old members returning, new members taking court, plus some athletes from our junior section.
Fife Phantoms was to face the formidable Dunedin 2 and we were uncertain about the level of gameplay. Dunedin came out for the win and took our athletes by surprise, by shutting a lot of opportunities for the Fife Phantoms team. The Fife Phantoms kept the game alive by working hard to get their performance to a level they can compete.
The team talk going in the second quarter was to try and open our chances and enjoy this experience going against a strong opponent. It was great to see that the Fife Phantoms game beginning to settle, plus the communication was more effective on court.
Going into the second half of the game the Phantoms were now down to 7 athletes due to an injury at the start of the 2nd Quarter.
Sandra the coach, used her game knowledge and switched to a new formation that would benefit the Fife Phantoms performance. The third and fourth quarter was a turn around for the Phantoms with the game being neck and neck with superb turnovers, bringing great contest to the second half of the game.
A great highlight for this new Fife Phantom Squad.
1st Quarter: Dunedin 26 - 1 Phantoms
2nd Quarter: Dunedin 17 - 5 Phantoms
3rd Quarter: Dunedin 13 - 5 Phantoms
4th Quarter: Dunedin 9 - 8 Phantoms
Coaches Thoughts - It was an overall great experience all round. It was great to see how the performance was rising every quarter from this newly formed squad of the Fife Phantoms, made up of some players from our Senior team that is currently sitting 1st in the 5th division, some junior members, and some old and new members of the club. Dunedin is a strong Squad that are currently 4th in the 1st division, their direct and powerful drives to the ball are hard to contest. The last quarter shows how strong our athletes are and how quick they adapt as Dunedin only had a one goal lead on the Fife Phantoms with our superb turnovers. Great to see how our athletes develop in a game, with great potential. Can't wait to work with these athletes for next season's competition. Well done.
Good luck Dunedin in your future games and wish you all success.

What a great match for the Fife Phantoms, commanding a win in every quarter, showing cohesive within the Fife Phantoms team structure.
Barton Tsunamis gave the Fife Phantoms challenges in the first two quarters by they ball side game play and movement skills. This made it hard for the Fife Phantoms to contest and challenge the ball.
Phantoms came out the second half of the game with all guns blazing, due to a tactical change in players positioning, Creating space and long ball placement and contesting the ball more. Performance from all our shooters was key for our success.
1st Quarter: Phantoms 18 - 7 Barnton Tsunamis
2nd Quarter: Phantoms 14 - 6 Barnton Tsunamis
3rd Quarter: Phantoms 20 - 2 Barnton Tsunamis
4th Quarter: Phantoms 14 - 5 Barnton Tsunamis

Both teams got off to a fast and frenetic start, showing both physical commitment and determination. It was an end to end quarter and the close scoreline throughout was testament to the evenness between the two teams.
A few positional changes from the Phantoms for the second quarter saw them become more ruthless all over the court. some great intercepts in the defensive third and great driving forward from the mid court saw the phantoms carve out opportunity after opportunity and deny their opponents shooters many shots at the hoop. Whilst the play remained quite even the score did not.
Into the second half and the Phantoms were in control. Whilst the play was still end to end and the Bridge of Earn team were making some brilliant intercepts all over the court, the Phantoms were matching them and some. Continued strong defence and swift and accurate attacks allowed the Phantoms to increase their lead.
Into the final quarter with a commanding lead and determined not to let a quarter slip away like they did against Kinross in their previous match, went the Phantoms. Bridge of Earn started well as the Phantoms were again guilty of forcing their passes at times. However they soon settled back into their rhythm. Intercepts were the name of the game and this quarter was no different. Both teams were getting involved and there was also some great swift attacks from both teams in what was again a tight quarter.
1st Quarter: Phantoms 9 - 7 Bridge of Earn
2nd Quarter: Phantoms 14 - 2 Bridge of Earn
3rd Quarter: Phantoms 14 - 7 Bridge of Earn
4th Quarter: Phantoms 12 - 10 Bridge of Earn
Coaches Thoughts: This was a well fought game from both teams with desire and passion from both teams in what was a closer match than the scoreline suggests. Lets go Phantoms!
Best of luck to Bridge of Earn for the remainder of the season.

The match displayed great energy with players executing quick precise passes, direct moves and impressive defensive play and rebounding. The score reflected how tight this match was throughout, with each team relentlessly pursing that victory.
Phantoms were on form right from the start of this match by winning the 1st Quarter by 2, then maintaining that lead for the entire match with impressive stats from the Phantoms shooters The Phantoms performance went up a notch in the last quarter with extreme defensive pressure on the Ospreys to get the victory of this fiercely competitive netball match.

In a scrappy and relatively low scoring first quarter both teams showed their nerves and were guilty of making many unforced errors. The Phantoms girls were able to assert some dominance and through strong defensive play took a slight lead into the second quarter.
The second quarter saw big improvement in control from both teams but again the Phantoms defence was strong and their shooters started to find the target. This allowed them to open up a 9 point lead by the end of the first half.
The third quarter saw the phantoms continue their dominance with some great defence and equally strong attacking play and accuracy from their shooters. This doubled their lead and saw them going into the last quarter 18 points clear.
The final quarter saw the Phantoms take their foot off the gas somewhat, and a return of some scrappy and inaccurate passing that Kinross took advantage of. Kinross closed the gap with some great intercepts and attacking play and this saw them win their first quarter of the game.
However it was ultimately not enough to catch the Phantoms, who go into their final game of the pool stage on Monday 15th still with a chance of progressing to the knock out stages of the U15's Scottish Cup.
1st Quarter: Kinross 4 - 6 Phantoms
2nd Quarter: Kinross 7 - 14 Phantoms
3rd Quarter: Kinross 5 - 14 Phantoms
4th Quarter: Kinross 13 - 8 Phantoms
Coaches Thoughts: What a great turn around in self discipline from the 1st to the 2nd quarter. Good example shown on court of great teamwork, hearing the girls encouraging each other. Well done for the win tonight girls! Lets go Phantoms.

What a match this was! Spectacular and thrilling to watch from start to finish. Both teams were evenly matched in all areas and in every quarter. The teams traded goal for goal looking for the win. The defensive play was tight throughout the entire match with great turnovers and equally great passing happening from each team in what was a high level competitive match. The lead switched at the end of each quarter with the Perth City team hitting the target when it really mattered in the final quarter to take the win.

In a nail-biting netball contest with both teams displaying exceptional skill and determination throughout the game. The match showcased intense defensive play and accurate shooting from both ends.
1st Quarter the Phantoms had an advantage over Dunfermline Stars with a narrow lead. Dunfermline bolstered their team with a couple of changes for the second quarter and this helped them turn the game around.
The Stars dominated the third quarter and opened an unassailable 10 point gap, and although the Phantoms never gave up the Stars didn't let up.
The 4th quarter was closer and was again end to end with the defence from both teams keeping the scores lower in that final 12 minutes.
The final score reflected the closely contested match showing the true spirit of competitive Netball.
1st Quarter: Phantoms 9 - 7 Dunfermline
2nd Quarter: Phantoms 6 - 10 Dunfermline
3rd Quarter: Phantoms 4 - 12 Dunfermline
4th Quarter: Phantoms 5 - 7 Dunfermline
Coaches Thoughts: It was great to see the girls back on court. The game was very competitive and Dunfermline put us under pressure, but the Phantoms kept themselves in the game with some excellent ball skills.

4th Quarter: FP 5 v Perth 18
Perth came out the starting blocks fast and opened up an early lead. The less experienced Phantoms team stuck to it even though they were up against a very slick and more experienced Perth team.
Perth never took their foot off the pedal and the Phantoms girls were finding it hard to keep the ball and make any inroads into the Perth defensive third. Whilst the speed at which the Perth girls were getting the ball to their shooters was almost as impressive as their shooters accuracy.
The game was well and truly out of reach by the end of the first half, but the Phantoms team kept plugging away and never let their heads go down. Congratulations to the Perth City squad and good luck to them in their defence of the trophy that many of their current squad won last year.

4th Quarter: Westhill 8 v FP 8
What an exciting and thrilling match from start to end. A great contest for the ball with great decision-making calls from the umpires.
1st Quarter - Westhill applied a lot of defensive play on the Phantoms and our decision-making wasn't as fluent.
This made the situation on the court more difficult to advance our play. Phantoms kept on working hard to conquer this and kept the scoreline tight
2nd Quarter - Made changes in the attacking end and defensive end to bring more flair and variety. This worked in our favour as the Phantoms worked as a unit with Anna and Katie keeping it tight at the back, winning turnover balls to bring up the court for precise shots from Kate and Violet. Won this quarter with hard work from all 7 players.
3rd Quarter - Westhill came on court this quarter with quick decisive patterns of play. Phantoms came back with great defensive play. Constant court play from both teams showed the talent on the court and Westhill got the advantage over the Phantoms.
4th Quarter - This was an exciting quarter, goal for goal. The level of play never decreased even though the players had been playing a very competitive match for a long period.
Captains' reflection: The team played very well today and the perseverance and effort from everyone was outstanding. It was a tough game because both teams were very evenly matched but I was very happy with our performance especially since we came back from a loss in the first quarter to win the second. The match was hard both mentally and physically - with endurance being a huge factor in the second half. However we adapted our game style and kept marking our opposition effectively so that we intercepted more passes.
Coach reflection:
Great standard of play from all the Fife Phantoms squad. The self-discipline on the court was high today without hardly any mistakes made on the court. All athletes are proud of their performance. What was a proud moment as a Coach was when the Westhill coach came over and talked about Abby's quick movement, and then the umpire said about Katie's defensive pressure. Let's build on this game. Let's go Phantoms!

The first quarter was an end to end encounter with the Phantoms girls pulling ahead early on. The rolling substitutions favoured the touring team as they had greater numbers to call upon, and the Mount Kelleian shooters started to find their mark and drew their team level.
In the second quarter the tourists began to draw ahead but the Phantoms team stayed in touch and put in some great plays to keep their scoreboard ticking over.
The third quarter remained end to end, but unfortunately injury struck the tourists' centre and she was forced off. This gave the Phantoms, who were already beginning to re-exert themselves, a slight lift and they surged back to within a couple of scores by the end of the third quarter.
The fourth quarter was cut short by a lack of time due to other court bookings. However, in the shortened quarter the Phantoms kept closing the gap and just before the final whistle they had brought it back to 27 - 28 and had a chance to level the game. Unfortunately the equaliser was not to be as the rim of the basket kept out at least 2 shots. The Mount Kelly girls pinched another goal to give them breathing space but the momentum was with the Fife Phantoms when the final whistle went.

A thrilling Scottish Cup game against Kinross, very high paced with a great deal of high level game play from both teams. This match did not reflect the final score as the Fife Phantom athletes showed determination throughout this match.Fife Phantoms kept themselves in this game mentally and physically, seeing new combinations on court fighting hard to keep the score line down.

Coach reflection - Spacing on court was very compact due to the pressure Kinross was putting on the Phantoms defensively, so what we do naturally was more tougher on our athletes. As a coach I was delighted how the girls overcame situations and showed they are more resilient.

The game unfolded with Foals scoring the first goal and catching us off guard - the Foals pace caught us by surprise! We quickly asserted ourselves back in the game and established an early lead.
The shooters Grace, Rafe, and Laura showcased impressive accuracy. Grace's shots were particularly noteworthy, not even grazing the hoop on multiple occasions. They all made sure to catch those rebounds and convert them back to goals again – Well done!
The momentum continued throughout the match as the defenders Lannah, Katie and Mya formed an impenetrable force, making it challenging for Clydesdale Foals to score. Applying pressure on the foals to force errors and quickly get the ball back up the court. Despite this, the Clydesdale Foals displayed commendable skill and determination.
The score line reflects their defensive efforts.
The mid-court players—Payton, Rebecca, Jagoda, and Kalina—applied immense pressure on Clydesdale Foals, leading to fantastic interceptions, forced errors and quick transitions into the shooting circle. They worked hard on their positioning and options ensuring possession was in our favour. The communication throughout the team was outstanding, enabling a seamless flow of the ball and creating numerous scoring opportunities.
It really is hard to pick out individuals from today’s game due to the great efforts that all players made today.
Grace (Captain), for her hard work, exceptional shooting skills and enthusiastic communication on court (you could hear her from the next court) was rightfully awarded Player of the Match.
Acknowledging Clydesdale Foals, it is crucial to recognise their commendable sportsmanship and skill throughout the match. Despite the challenging scoreline, Clydesdale Foals demonstrated resilience and determination, contributing to an exciting and competitive game. Their performance added to the intensity of the match, showcasing the high level of netball played by both teams.

The game started with some end to end play, but the Phantoms quickly asserted themselves and enjoyed the greater amount of attacking play. However, some wayward shooting from both teams meant that the first quarter was relatively low scoring.
Into the second quarter and there was a desire shown by the whole Phantoms team, particularly Emily (GA), that rattled their opponents. Again the Phantoms enjoyed ascendancy in attack, and their shooters started to find their range. They also demonstrated resilience in defence, led by team captain Evie (GD), and continued to deny Cherrybank many clear scoring chances.
The third quarter saw continued strong defence from the phantoms with, the opposition's vote for star player, Ella dropping back from C to GD, and partnering Evie (GK) and Amelia (WD) as they broke up Cherrybank's plays and launched the Phantoms' attacks. Up front the shooters Faye and Elise continued to improve their accuracy and the goals kept flowing.
In the final quarter the confidence palpably flowed through the Phantoms team as the defence shut out the opposition and the attack were rampant as they racked up score after score.

Linlithgow came out strong against our squad in the 1st Quarter. The Phantoms kept in that quarter by using great connection with good attacking options and kept Linlithgow score line in our reach.
At the first quarter changeover, Sandra made complete positional changes, so the attacking end would become more fluent. The Phantoms went on with great determination and speed throughout the court and won this quarter 12 goals to 9.
The 3rd and 4th quarter brought another thrilling and closely contested half. With a lot of contest between both teams, not one team could break each other defensively.
1st Quarter FP 7 - 12 Linlithgow
2nd Quarter FP 12 - 9 Linlithgow
3rd Quarter FP 8 - 8 Linlithgow
4th Quarter FP 7 - 8 Linlithgow
Well done to both squads, congratulations to Linlithgow for a great win, and a special mention for Kate Wilson who secured her second star player nomination of the season from the opposition.
Coach's reflection: Every time the Fife Phantoms girls step on court the level of play and determination within the team is getting stronger the more they play. Ball placement in this match was a pleasure to watch and how it opened options of play. Let keep it going girls. Fantastic work!

Both teams came out strong in the first quarter with the Phantoms holding a slender lead 10-8 at the end of the first quarter.
Some changes made by Sandra for the second quarter allowed strong through court connections that meant the phantoms edged further ahead. Finishing the first half 23-15.
The Ospreys then upped the pressure in the second half. They were continuously challenging the Phantoms defence who stood up to the pressure, and the Phantoms edged the third quarter extending their lead to 34-25.
The final quarter was very level with lots of contest and pressure from both sides. With the Phantoms seeing out the game for a final score of 42-33 to Phantoms.

Fife Phantoms went out and really put their mark on the game with such an impressive start, Performance came from constant playing throughout the 1st quarter. Sandra the coach managed to get all athletes on court with team changes at all quarters. This gave the development players an insight of a higher competitive match. Fife Phantoms continue to work as a Squad and the fourth quarter was a delight to watch as the hard work paid off
1st Quarter FP 12 - 5 Highlanders
2nd Quarter FP 4 - 10 Highlanders
3rd Quarter FP 14 - 8 Highlanders
4th Quarter FP 17 - 2 Highlanders
Coach reflection - Each quarter brought a new challenge to the Fife Phantoms and we still produced a win.

Game number 2 of the season for our U15’s was another challenging match against Stirling Swifts.
The Swifts, with a large contingent from the Central District U15’s who had comprehensively beaten the Fife District team just last week, were organised and sharp from the start.
The first quarter saw an end to end game, but the phantoms lacked a little bit of experience up front and unfortunately the ball didn’t stick for them at crucial moments. The game was fast with the Swifts living up to their name and they’d pulled ahead 9-2 by the end of the quarter.
In the second quarter, to strengthen the attack, Sandra rang a few changes both in personnel and positions. With Phantoms U15 Captain Eilidh moving from Goal Defence to Centre, Ella pushed forward into an unfamiliar Goal Attack position, and Paulina being asked to play Goal Keep for the first time since primary school. This worked to improve the ball retention in attack somewhat, but there was perhaps a slight loss of presence in the defensive third and the Swifts took the quarter 11-2.
The third quarter saw a few further positional and personnel changes. Eilidh strengthened the defensive third in her 3rd different position - Wing Defence - and the Phantoms made the Swifts work hard for their goals. Fatigue was creeping in to both teams and this saw some more unforced errors, particularly free pass foot faults from the Phantoms. However the pace was still fast and the scoring remained consistent with the Swifts winning the quarter 10-1.
The final quarter followed generally the same pattern as those before it, although the Phantoms had their best quarter in attack. A lovely slick passing move involving Ella (Centre), Faye (Goal Attack), Amelia (Goal Shoot) and Eilidh, now playing Wing Attack, saw Amelia score my personal choice for goal of the game. With the Phantoms going down 9-3.
Eilidh’s versatility and commitment around the court deservedly won her the Star Player vote from the Swifts. All of the Phantoms girls fought for one another and supported each other throughout the game, and a young Phantoms line up made their opponents work for every point. They can all hold their heads high even in defeat.
Go Phantoms!!

The Fife Phantoms took on the Kinross Novas in a thrilling netball match. From the very start, it was clear that both teams were ready to give it their all. The Phantoms knew they were up against a tough opponent, but that didn't stop them from applying tremendous pressure on the Novas.
The Phantoms' marking, interceptions, shooting, and defense were nothing short of amazing. Every player on the team gave 100 percent, showcasing their skills and determination. The ball flowed smoothly as the Phantoms displayed excellent teamwork and coordination.
Every player contributed towards today’s victory. Special mention goes to debut players Kalina and Jagoda, who made a remarkable impact on the game. Additionally, Rafe impressed everyone by taking on a new position and excelling.
In the end, the Fife Phantoms emerged victorious with a score of 18-5. It was a well-deserved win for a team that showed great sportsmanship and talent throughout the match.
Congratulations to the Fife Phantoms on their outstanding performance! Keep up the fantastic work, and I can't wait to see more victories in the future!

The four quarters brought great performance throughout the game, working well as a team with lots of good connection play between players and ball placement. The Phantoms put the pressure on the Emeralds throughout the whole game. Our defence unit was so tight throughout the game, it limited the Emeralds options.

In the 1st quarter the Phantoms were finding this game mentally tough due to the good defensive pressure the Saltires were putting on the Phantoms squad, but the Phantoms still held a narrow lead at the end of the quarter.
The 2nd quarter brought a different gameplay strategy from the Phantoms. With a change in their shooting area, which gave more options. Sadly one of the Phantoms players got injured during the quarter and with no reserves available the Phantoms went down to 6 players for the second half.
However the phantoms didn't disappoint and pulled together as a team, and despite their depleted numbers went on to win the next 2 quarters. Special mention to Violet C for her shooting accuracy despite playing outwith her usual mid court position! And well done Lauren S for her Star Player performance in defence!
So despite the adversity of being short numbered the Phantoms didn't disappoint winning every quarter in the game.

2nd quarter FP 9 - 2 Saltires
3rd quarter FP 13 - 4 Saltires

Fife Phantoms went out and produced a high level performance with a great flexibility on the court. Each quarter the coach (Sandra W) was able to make changes due to the Phantoms athletes being so flexible, and these changes brought different play structure and performance each quarter. With the Phantoms outscoring their opponents in every quarter.
First Quarter FP 11 Napier 2
Second Quarter FP 11 Napier 5
Third Quarter FP 15 Napier 12
Last Quarter FP 13 Napier 4
Defensive pressure was put on Napier from the start from Anna and Adele with constant success on rebounding. The Fife Phantoms kept the speed of the game throughout with superb communication on attacking play. What an amazing performance, especially with 8 athletes.
Another proud moment for those athletes due to their hard work. With a special shout out to Jenny Allan for her star player performance.

Amazing effort this morning from the Fife Phantoms primary team, you came out strong from the first whistle and continued this throughout the quarters.
1st Quarter saw Fife Phantoms come out strong in attack and take the lead 7-2. This was continued into 2nd quarter with the primary team stretching their lead to a score of 10-4. In the 3rd quarter Phantoms further extended their lead, showing great defensive and attacking skills finishing the quarter leading 17-4. In the 4th quarter Phantoms defence remained strong, stopping Ferry Flyer Ripples from scoring whilst scoring another 5 goals themselves.
The final score was 22-4 to Fife Phantoms.
You all pulled together as a team and this could be seen from your movement on court, fantastic passing/catching and the amazing interceptions that were made up and down the court.
Well done to everyone that played today.
Player of the match for Fife Phantoms was Lannah Gilbert, chosen by Ferry Flyer Ripples.

Perth City U11 29-19 Fife Phantoms U11
First up our primary team (U11's) played a friendly match against their Perth City equivalents. It was a great runout for the primary team as they played six 8 minute periods. There was some fabulous commitment and play from the clubs youngsters supported by a couple of older subs due to low numbers and injury.
Well done to the fab Fife Phantoms!
NEXT UP WAS...
Perth City U15 41 - 26 Fife Phantoms U15
Fife Phantoms visited Perth to play a friendly match against the newly crowned U15 Scottish Cup Champions, Perth City. With a new U15 squad assembled preparing for the new season this was going to be a challenge.
Although losing the game 41 points to 26, we showed great character growing with confidence as the game progressed. Defensively we worked tirelessly with Lana King showing great determination to hold off the attacking duo. In the centre court, Ella our team captain matching the advancement and drives from Perth and upfront Anna showing that she has the all round game both defensively and offensively.
Anna was given the Perth player of the match although my pick would be Emily Baird. Emily worked really hard on the WA role, focussed and determined to win the ball, intercepting at every opportunity and shooting well when in the GA role.
Well done to the entire squad who all contributed to a lovely game of netball.

The CNA Playoffs got off to a fantastic start with a derby match between Fife Phantoms and Kirkcaldy Under 13s teams. An early start on a Sunday morning to get everyone to Grangemouth but no opportunity for sluggish starts with lots of fast-paced passing and energy from the first whistle.
The Under 13s have gone from strength to strength this season, with some great results in recent matches. They took to the court with confidence and determination. There were clearly some nerves on both sides early on with the occasional wild pass but the Phantoms soon settled down, regained composure and took an early lead with a goal from Emily. Just one minute later Jena followed up with another goal and the Phantoms were off to an ideal start. Kirkcaldy were able to respond with a goal of their own to take it to 2-1 but the first quarter ended 7-2 to Fife Phantoms with impressive shooting accuracy from Jena.
The Phantoms really found their stride going into the second quarter with brilliant passing and pace. Eilidh and Amelia made things very difficult for the Kirkcaldy shooters and Daisy and Ella made some excellent interceptions. Jena’s great scoring form continued this time paired up with Elise in Goal Attack who made an incredible long shot two minutes from the end of the quarter, taking the scoreline to 13-3.
The fast passing and energetic performance continued in the third quarter with Grace and Zoe moving particularly well interrupting the flow when Kirkcaldy had the ball and working quickly to convert these to opportunities for the Phantoms. A well-deserved rest for Jena in the third quarter left Elise and Emily in the scoring positions. Elise continued her impressive display of long shots being slammed in the net from all angles and Emily too adding to the Phantoms scoreline of 21-5.
Fife Phantoms dominated the final quarter with Jena and Elise continuing to score consistently, totalling up a further 13 goals between them. The final score was a clear victory for an impressive Fife Phantoms team 34-7.
Every one of the Phantoms players excelled in the match today and each deserves a special mention. Amelia was particularly strong in Goal Keep, responding well to the rebound and ensuring the ball was passed quickly and accurately for Phantoms to charge to the opposite end. Daisy made excellent interceptions in Wing Defence, with a real willingness to win the ball. She has really grown in confidence and determination this season. Eilidh for great defensive play, making it difficult for Kirkcaldy to get through. Ella displaying great athleticism, moving well all over the court with quick passing. Elise for some quite unbelievable goals from all ranges, making those long shots look easy. Emily for great court coverage, getting into good positions and moving quickly. Grace for excellent defensive play, causing Kirkcaldy all sorts of difficulties in getting around her. Zoe for reading the game brilliantly, always in the right space at the right time. Last but not least, the player of the match, Jena for amazing shooting accuracy, great movement and an impressive tally of 18 goals today.
Most of all, the girls played for each other with real team spirit, leveraging each other’s strengths and providing support at every turn. It was a fantastic match to watch from the Fantastic, Fabulous, Fife Phantoms!
Susan Baird, U13 Team Manager
The Fife Phantoms U13 squad took part in the Perth and Kinross Netball Association end of season tournament at Perth today.
The event started with a round robin consisting of 6 matches of 12 minute games. The Phantoms secured 5 wins from the 6 games cementing a place in the last 4 and a semi-final game against Bridge of Earn.
The scores from the round robin:
Fife Phantoms 8 v 2 Stirling
Bridge of Earn 4 v 5 Fife Phantoms
Fife Phantoms 7 - 4 Kinross Galaxies
Cherrybank 2 - 4 Fife Phantoms
Fife Phantoms 16 - 2 Kinross Rockets
Fife Phantoms 2 - 13 Perth City
The semi-final was a well fought contest with Bridge of Earn securing the win 8 points to 3. Tiredness was definitely a factor following the great work in the round robin but well played to Bridge of Earn who were the better side and who reached the final against Perth.
A third/fourth playoff was our final game and we were determined to take home third place. We didn't disappoint with great defensive and offensive work from the squad who won the game 10 points to 4 versus Stirling.
The entire squad played great today, communicating well and most importantly playing as a team, cheering on from the sidelines and so happy to be playing and winning matches. Difficult to pick a player of the tournament as we had so many players who stepped up and showed great determination and drive today although Eilidh Murphy defensively played almost every minute of the competition, made amazing interceptions and put in a great shift covering lots of positions from Goal Keeper, Goal Defence and Wing Defence. Well done Eilidh.
Congratulations Fife Phantoms, great work!
Bryan McAlpine, U15/U13 Team Manager
Today the Fife Phantoms primary squad took on Stirling Warriors in their last game of the season. Although it was their last match it was also a first for us. We had Rafe Burstone take to the court, our first male player to participate in a league match and what a great game he had. He took on the roles of Goal Keeper and Goal Defence and made some amazing intercepts and made the warriors work hard for every goal – what an excellent first game Rafe! The rest of the squad as always were so determined and played a fantastic match from start to finish.
Quarter 1 saw the Phantoms kick off the match with the centre pass, they made a strong set of passes to the shooting circle which was then blocked by the opposition and sent back up the court. Throughout the quarter the phantoms managed to get 2 goals in and were putting up a good fight.
The next 2 quarters saw an explosion of goals, with Lannah making three shots in a row with the aid of some excellent mid court passes up to the circle and great defence. Laura, Payton and Grace also added to the total giving the Phantoms a total of 9 goals by the end of the 3rd quarter.
In the final quarter in centre court Katie, Amelia and Grace worked well together, getting the ball back to the circle for 2 more goals and in the final minute of the game Laya-Bailey made a cracking interception and passed the ball straight on giving our shooters one last chance at a goal before the end of the match.
Excellent match everyone lots to take forward from this one!
Gina Wilson, Primary Team Manager
The last game in the CNA fixtures saw the Under 13 team head off to Grangemouth to play the Kinross Galaxies. The Under 13s have grown in confidence as the season has progressed and put on a great performance of resilience, courage and competitive edge. The Phantoms got off to a great start with a 3-1 lead within the opening two minutes. The Kinross team however soon found their stride and the first quarter ended 4-7 to the Kinross Galaxies.
Without any subs available for the Phantoms the girls made a quick switch of positions to conserve energy as well as they could and set out for the second quarter. Despite an early goal from Faye the Galaxies quickly responded and made a number of effective interceptions to extend their lead, with second quarter finishing 6-14.
Another quick positions change for the third quarter and Phantoms really found their form with confident play and a number of good blocks and interceptions causing some difficulties for the more dominant team. This was a much more evenly matched quarter with each team adding 5 goals to their tallies.
The girls were clearly tiring by the last quarter but there was no opportunity for respite and they battled on bravely with continued good passing. The Galaxies were able to take advantage of depleting energy levels though and extended their lead, finishing the game 13-24.
The Under 13s Phantoms team have continued to impress throughout the season and demonstrated an increased level of confidence today, willingness to take on the challenge and at times played some very impressive netball. It will be very exciting to see what they produce next for the future. Player of the match Faye Allan.
Susan Baird, U13 Team Manager
Reaching the quarter finals of the Scottish Youth Cup is extremely difficult although this is exactly what our U15s achieved. We had played some great opposition in the league format from Perth City to Ellon in Aberdeenshire.
We fell short at the QF stage against an extremely experienced Holyrood although can feel extremely proud of what we achieved.
Holyrood started the game well with 4 unanswered goals, although Phantoms reacted and started to score with great work from Charlotte and Kate trying to open up the defence. Holyrood were working hard making good of rebounds and countering our attack. Injury to Eilidh and Ella in the first quarter was unexpected although we had resource to come in and push on.
We made changes bringing on Emelia and Olivia who played extremely well and although we were 29-12 down at the break you would not have thought this due to the high intensity of the game.
The 3rd quarter showed great character defensively with immense pressure from Holyrood, intercepting and moving the ball around well. Kate and Charlotte were working extremely well with Imogen creating lots of space and starting to show the class we have in this squad.
We found ourselves losing 61 points to 22 although taking some really great positives and learning so much through this experience.
Emelia was my player of the match. Even though missing the first quarter the impact she made defensively was outstanding with great interceptions and with a never giving up mentality chasing every ball and marking her opponent so well.
Well done Fife Phantoms and lets see how we get on next year in the Scottish Youth Cup.
Bryan McAlpine, U15 Team Manager
The U15 Phantoms squad faced Dunfermline Diamonds in what can only be described as a local derby match. Dunfermline Diamonds were up for this game right from the centre pass making for a very exciting game.
The game was fast paced with great movement and speed up and down the court. With goals from each side we kept the score fairly even leading into the second quarter.
The phantoms strategy this year is to get as many players on court to build confidence and with that in mind we made several changes. This did impact the score and by the break we were 18 points to 5 down. Today was not our best shooting day and the score could have been closer.
The pace of the game didn't slow down into the 3rd and with tiring players, we did manage to pull the game back and showed real competitive spirit.
Dunfermline were definitely up for this game and possibly we reacted a little late . With more accurate shooting and maybe less changes, this game may have been closer.
Final score was Dunfermline Diamonds 23 Phantoms 9
Player of the match was Eilidh McNicol who played excellently in the centre role.
Next match for the U15s is the Quarter Final of the Scottish Youth Cup.
Go Phantoms!
Bryan McAlpine, U15 Team Manager
The penultimate game for the Under 13s took them to Bo’ness to face another Fife team, Dunfermline Stars.
It was a fast paced game with lots of excellent passes and end to end excitement. The Phantoms opened the scoring within the first minute of the first quarter with a goal from Emily Baird. The Stars equalising just a minute later, followed by another goal from Emily putting the Phantoms ahead before the Stars equalised again and then another goal from Emily in the fifth minute put Phantoms 3-2 ahead. The Stars responded with three further goals putting the end of the first quarter 3-5 to the Stars.
With a few changes in the break the Stars started off the second quarter really strongly extending their lead by a further three goals in the first five minutes. Elise made some excellent blocks in Goal Keep as did Sophie in Centre who seemed to fly through the air, providing great coverage of the court. Faye scored a fantastic long shot followed by a couple of nail biting near misses to narrow the gap between the teams. 4-11 at the end of Quarter Two.
The Phantoms really stepped up in the third quarter with Sophie continuing her run of excellent interceptions playing in Goal Defence, limiting the Stars to two goals this time. Emily scored another two excellent goals, a further two from Faye and then a fantastic long shot from Faye in the final few minutes narrowing the gap to 9-13 going into the final quarter.
Amelia made some excellent blocks in Goal Keep in the final quarter but unfortunately the Stars really stepped up their game with a spree of goals ending the match 9-21 to the Dunfermline Stars. Faye was a worthy player of the match with her impressive long shots.
Susan Baird, U13 Team Manager
The Phantoms U15 squad travelled to Glasgow in their first ever knockout appearance in the Scottish Youth Cup versus a very experienced Glasgow Fury squad.
Confidence was high amongst a lot of nerves although the squad were ready to take the court and give a great performance. This is exactly what we got. Both teams started with pace, great movement across court and battling to regain control of the ball. Kate and Charlotte were operating well together to shoot, create space and communicate well with the squad alongside our defence really up against it from the first whistle.
We can see such a difference with the squad, communicating well, knowing where to find each other on the court and making great decisions on court
In the second quarter we showed much more composure starting to claw back a deficit created by strong Fury play in the first quarter. Great defensive work from Anna and Violet intercepting and moving the ball towards the offensive line with speed and determination to make this a closer game. We ended the second quarter down 25 points to 12 although I am sure Fury would agree that the score didn't reflect the game play.
The 3rd quarter was our best, reacting to loose balls and showing the determination and fight missed in the first two quarters. Great interceptions defensively and allowing Eilidh and Imogen to move more freely.
We went into the fourth 18 points adrift although the girls wanted to carry on with the same determination knowing that this was not yet over. This showed great character and never giving up mentality. We ended the game losing by 20 points although from seeing Fury's previous scores this was a great achievement.
We left Glasgow a little disappointed but proud of what we had achieved with the girls learning so much from the Scottish Cup experience. This after all is an extremely high level of Netball and possibly the last U15 run for some of our players moving up to U17 next season.
Final score was 46-26.
Player of the match was Violet Campbell who excelled in GD and put so much effort into the game, supporting those around her and creating opportunities. Well done Violet.
Go Phantoms.
Bryan McAlpine, U15 Team Manager
The Primary team returned to Grangemouth for their fourth game of the season, this time facing the Biggar Fireflies.
After a fantastic win in their last match the girls took to the court with an air of confidence and team unity. It was clear from the outset that the girls meant business with Laya-Bailey very narrowly missing scoring in the first 90 seconds of the game, quickly followed by Payton having a near miss seconds later.
There was a flurry of activity around the goal for the Phantoms with a series of shooting opportunities with the ball bouncing off the metal, circling around the rim,
bouncing just off target whilst the supporters were on the edge of their seats ‘oohing and aahing’ willing the ball to drop in. A nasty collision for Laya-Bailey forced her off the court to recover as Laura stepped up as Goal Shoot and at last got the goal the Phantoms so rightly deserved.
Payton quickly increased the lead securing a further goal with Laura narrowly missing out a few seconds later on another goal scoring opportunity. Rebecca made a series of excellent blocks in Goal Defence stopping the Fireflies in their tracks when trying to press down to the opposite end of the court.
Payton made great use of space, getting into excellent shooting positions and secured the third goal of the game closely followed by a near miss from Laura. Fireflies were determined to fight back and take control of the game and Phantoms successfully held them off with an impressive run of interceptions before they finally managed to break through and score one back. Not to be deterred, Payton managed to sneak another goal for the Phantoms in the final seconds of the game.
An excellent opening quarter ending 1-4 to the Phantoms. With some changes in positions for the second quarter, Payton opened the scoring with another excellent goal. The Fireflies had clearly taken the opportunity to regroup and change tactics during the short break and retaliated with three goals of their own. A special mention to Amelia who made some excellent interceptions forcing the Biggar side to change tact and to Katie for some fine defensive play. Laura, again showed great scoring form securing a further goal for the Phantoms but Biggar had also found their flow and managed to turn it around finishing the quarter 7-6.
The third quarter was a series of goals for both sides, again with Payton continuing her scoring spree for the Phantoms. Laura, having moved to Goal Keep was fantastic and intercepted the Fireflies attempts to increase their lead even further. It’s worthy of note that the communication between this young team is truly remarkable, from shouting encouragement to each other, ensuring there are options on the court and praising excellent play. Laya-Bailey sets a great example of spurring on the team to great things.
Going into the final quarter, the Phantoms were in deficit but determined to take this game back and with two excellent goals from Laura and a near miss from Payton combined with Mhyrin’s great efforts in keeping the Fireflies away from scoring opportunities, it looked as though that might happen. Unfortunately due to late play, the decision was taken to reduce the last quarter to five minutes which was just not quite enough time to make up the difference that was required. The final results was 12-10 to Biggar Fireflies.
The Primary team are getting better and better as the season goes on and there are so many positives to take from this game with accurate passing, effective interceptions, blocks and of course great goal scoring. Payton is a goal scoring machine and was crowned Player of the Match. Grace, as Centre demonstrated an amazing work rate, running all over the place, passing, catching and intercepting – exhausting work (and that was just watching her!)
Together the girls have tremendous team spirit, determination and resilience. This was a really exciting game to watch and at times real ‘edge of your seat’ stuff. As one of the parents summed it up for an early start on a Saturday morning it had ‘a better buzz than a cup of coffee.’ I couldn’t put it better myself so I haven’t!
Well done girls.
Go Phantoms
Susan Baird, U13 Team Manager
The Fife Phantoms Under 13s welcomed Grace Davidson making her debut for the team for their third match of the season. Grace gave an excellent performance as did Lannah Gilbert who also stepped up from the Primary team for the last game.
Both girls showing great promise for the U13 team.
This fixture was always going to be a tough for the girls. The Peebles Rockets are unbeaten so far this season and sitting at the top of the table. The experience of the Rockets was evident from the outset as they scored in the opening minute of the match and continued as they meant to go on with a flurry of goals, taking the lead 6-0 in the first five minutes of the match.
Amelia Wilson sought to close down the goal spree and very nearly claimed one back with a close shot but the Rockets responded with more shooting with impressive accuracy. Sophie Provan made some excellent interceptions in her role of playing Centre, disrupting the flow of play for the opposition. Amelia managed to grab a nice goal at the end of the quarter, finishing it 11-1 to the Rockets.
The Phantoms got into a better rhythm for the second quarter with some nice passing and blocks stemming the opportunities for the Rockets. Nevertheless the Rockets still managed to break through and score another three goals before Emily Baird was able to respond with a goal for the Phantoms. The second quarter ended 16-2.
The Rockets seemed to step up their performance again in the third quarter, drawing on the experience of their players. The Phantoms showed real determination and resilience working well together with some good passing, movement. finding space and encouraging each other. Amelia again very almost finding the net to boost the scoreline for the Phantoms but narrowly missing out.
Elise Ryan had an excellent fourth quarter in the Centre position, making life difficult for the Rockets with blocks and interceptions. Emily Baird made an excellent long shot into the net for the Phantoms in the opening minutes and quickly followed up with another goal just a minute later. The girls grew in confidence as the game continued with some brilliant periods of play giving a glimpse of the potential this team has. Grace Rodgers excelled in Goal Keep, making things difficult for the Rockets as they tried to extend their lead and Daisy Hutchison with some fantastic play on the Wing.
The final scoreline of 34-4 to the Peebles Rockets secured a convincing win for the opposition but the Phantoms are growing in experience and developing with every game and really showing impressive skills for the future.
Congratulations to Elise Ryan as Player of the Match for her fantastic all round performance for the duration of the match.

Match report – Saturday 21st January 2023
Fife Phantoms v Sonics (CNA League)
Another thrilling match for the Fife Phantoms.
7 players for this match with flexible mindset throughout the game from the athletes with players switching positions every quarter to keep the strength in the squad for the whole match.
Fife Phantoms matched the Sonics, that are currently 2nd in this 1st Division Adult league with great agility, contest for the ball and willingness to keep control of the game.
At the end of the match, one of the Sonics players came across and spoke with the girls saying how impressed her team was with the Fife Phantoms squad.
Sandra report – The score didn’t reflect the game and the aim the girls gave themselves was to beat the goals they scored when they played this team before and the squad succeeded. Well done Phantoms !!!
Player of the Match was Amy Sharp.
Sandra Wallace - Head Coach
A thrilling Scottish Cup game from start to finish.
Fife Phantoms U17 squad went on court determined to succeed, and give themselves a chance to qualify for the knockout stages.
The Phantoms were up against it with only have 7 players, having to play out of position against a very tough defensive set up at Perth City.
Throughout the whole game, the girls done it with grace playing in the Fife Phantoms style, meeting every difficult situation head on, and working harder together battling to secure a result.
Game was high paced with great turn over balls from both teams.
Great hard work girls, what a credit to the Fife Phantom structure.
Player of the match was Amy Sharp. Well Done Amy.
Go Phantoms
Sandra Wallace, Head Coach
First of all, I would like this match report to reflect the game, when you see the score line, you would automatically think the game was one sided and this is not the case.
Fife Phantoms athletes have been really up against it in this league as we have been playing most our 1st Division Adult games with 7 players with great pose and determination.
The Spark game was contested physically with the Fife Phantoms players really stepping up their own game play, umpiring whistle was going against us the whole game when the Fife Phantoms players was contesting the ball, even though the girls getting tired and frustrated our game play never went down, with excellent agility in our movement with great pace balls, is was fantastic to watch as a Coach.
The pressure was really building on my players, so in the last quarter I made a bold decision, putting players out of position to bring enjoyment back in the game, great shooting throughout the match especially from Violet, but don’t forget the other end with Lois and Teri making some great interception.
Great teamwork, lets keep getting stronger !
Lets go Phantoms !
Sandra Wallace - Head Coach
Following a win at Kinross last week, the Phantoms U17 squad played the second game of their Scottish Cup league section versus Bridge of Earn last night.
The phantoms squad controlled the game from the start with excellent movement, passing, speed around the court, defensive work and shooting.
This is possibly the best display I have seen from the U17 squad showing that they are playing as a team, understanding each others ability and strengths, communicating and shining with confidence.
In addition to the on court action, I was also delighted with the support from the players waiting to get their own court time. Just an amazing atmosphere all round.
Be extremely proud of your commitment and success from this game. Perth is our next opponent later this week and we are all looking forward to this match.
Player of the match was Amy Sharp.

The Fife Phantoms Primary team took to the court to face the Ferry Flyers on Saturday and what an exciting match it was. The team was made up of the younger members of the primary team this time so a new team dynamic for the girls to get used to.
The first quarter saw the phantoms really having to work hard in defence Kayleigh had some excellent blocks and kept the score line to just 4-0 against the phantoms. The girls all worked so well as a team, communicating, finding spaces, and marking their players with precision.
This really built up their confidence for the second quarter, straight from the centre pass the phantoms were passing well and this led to 7 outstanding goals for the team. The shooters were in for the rebounds, displaying great chest and bounce passes and full of determination – fantastic to see. The team were buzzing with excitement when the whistle blew and the score at 7-4 to the phantoms.
The third quarter was very close with both teams fighting for the win. The phantoms defence was back in action GD and GK intercepting the passes and playing them beautifully to the Centre and Wings to get the ball up the court. This saw another 4 goals for the phantoms and 8 for the ferry flyers taking the score to 11-12 to the flyers. The phantoms had an injury and WD Laya-Bailey had to come off. The girls carried on and managed to hold the ferry flyers to a held ball with their excellent marking and keep possession until the whistle.
In the final quarter both teams were again determined and never once gave up, the players were so focused that only 1 goal was scored in the full quarter, taking the final score to 11-13 to the flyers.
Overall, an excellent, competitive match with examples of great skill and teamwork. The girls should be very proud.
Player of the match was Payton – GD
Well done everyone!
Go Phantoms!!!

The U17 phantoms squad were in action last week versus Kinross in a Scottish Cup tie.
Phantoms played extremely well and took home a win to secure 5 points within the league format. Well done to Katie who was our player of the match.
With a future game against Bridge of Ellon on Monday 16th January and games still to play against Ellon and Perth City, our U17 team will be featuring over the coming weeks.
Well done U17 and best of luck in the future rounds.
Sandra Wallace, Head Coach
The Phantoms U15 squad took to the court to play Bridge of Earn on Monday in a friendly match scheduled early into the New Year.
With the players well rested over the festive break, they were eager to get back into match fitness and ready for the second half of the season.
Phantoms started the game well using our speed and movement to take an early lead. Charlotte and Kate showing no signs of losing sight of goal supported by Imogen and Olivia in our attack.
Defensively we were strong and made a number of interceptions allowing us to move the ball across the court and increasing our lead. Big shout out to Anna, Violet, Eilidh, Freya, Amber and Emelia who were exceptional in defence across all quarters.
We made a host of changes throughout the game making sure that all players were given experience of court time and they did extremely well. Well done to Jena, Lois and Ella,
A great performance all round although Charlotte was my player of the match. Our captain and leader on the court, Charlotte made such an impact not only in scoring but supporting the team, tracking back, and intercepting play, Well done Charlotte.
Go Phantoms
Bryan McAlpine, U15 Team Manager
A trip to Perth City awaited the Phantoms U15 squad in the fourth Scottish Cup tie of the season. We knew that a win would secure a place in the next stages, although with Perth already qualified we knew we were in for a tough game.
The first quarter started well with both teams scoring and moving well across the court, Perth determined to keep their 100% record and Phantoms chasing the second place automatic qualification.
Perth showed their experience and took the game to Phantoms taking the first half 31 points to 10. A physical encounter seemed to fire up the Phantoms for the second half.
Defensively and offensively, the Phantoms started to make incredible strides towards pulling the deficit back and starting to boss the game. Charlotte and Kate working well as always and excellent performances from Olivia supporting our attack. As we pressed to close the gap, changes were made to the structure of the squad with Ella moving into Centre and Violet strengthening our defensive line up.
Delighted with individual performances from Ella and Olivia who played with heart and determination and to Kate who's will to win really inspired the team towards winning the second half 19 points to 17.
Although a loss, we held on to a score that allowed us to secure a point, enough to automatically secure second place in a tough league format.
Congratulations to all the U15 squad, we are super proud of the team spirit, drive and attitude to never give up no matter the score or circumstances.
Player of the match was Kate Wilson. During the game Kate asked me to move her from GS to GA as she wanted to be more involved, supporting her team mates and encouraging everyone to focus and to think of the prize. This showed great leadership skills. Well done Kate.
Go Phantoms
Bryan McAlpine, U15 Team Manager
Barnton and Phantoms fought out a 30-30 draw in the CENA league on Sunday.
This contest was very physical as Barnton tried to break down the Phantoms which in the end didn't prevail as we managed to secure a draw.
The game brought impressive netball qualities for example with the girls stamina on the break of play, taking 4 unanswered goals.
Another great performance for a team that has a great work ethic and morals within this sporting environment.
Well done to Abby Crielly who took player of the match.
Time for our CENA players to rest up and pick up in the New Year. Go Phantoms.
Sandra Wallace, Head Coach
Our senior squad took court against Stirling Sonics on Saturday 10th December and although losing by 55 points to 23, we were inundated with comments from umpires and the Sonics on how good our young team is. Noting that the senior league is typically for adults, our squad is a mix of U17 and U15 squad members. We are super proud of the work that you put in against stronger and more experienced opponents.
Sandra Wallace our head coach added:
The game consisted of a high level of play from end to end throughout the entire match. The phantoms gave an outstanding performance showing good technique and ability. Fair play was experienced from both teams as we contested the ball. A high level of self discipline was key for the Phantoms in that game with great drive and motivation.
Pleasure to watch and keep that performance up girls.
Congratulations to Phoebe Arnold who was player of the match.
Let's Go Phantoms!!
Sandra Wallace, Head Coach
What a game of Netball. Both teams played at an electric pace up and down the court.
Cherrybank started the first quarter strongly scoring early with Phantoms matching then all the way with both Kate and Charlotte taking their shots well. The defensive team of Anna, Eilidh and Amber did really well with good interceptions and keeping the ball.
The second quarter we started well and closed the gap, moving the ball well, pressing and forcing mistakes from the opposition as they tried to deal with our pressure.
Unfortunately our captain was forced off at the end of the second through injury although the substitutes did a great job maintaining the score with Jena and Kate finishing well. Great defensive work from Evie and an all round super performance.
With only a few points in it, the fourth was well contested with both teams looking to secure the win. A really sore injury for Kate meant that we had to play the final minutes without our sensational GS. Evie did a great job to deputise although we just didnt have enough this week and lost by 4 points against a very good Cherrybank.
Next in the Scottish Cup is Perth City and only a win enough to hopefully secure a place in the knockouts.
Player of the match was Kate Wilson who showed the determination and courage throughout the game, Well done Kate.
Bryan McAlpine, U15 Team Manager
This game brought a different twist to what the Fife Phantoms are used to in the CENA league.
Barton started and finished the game by getting their play up the court by taking their time to do so making sure that they had control.
Fife Phantoms put up a fight from beginning to end keeping up the tempo of the game but struggled with the mental aspects of this game and the things the Phantoms do well was not working that day and the whistle was against us the whole way through.
There was a lot of positive play from the Phantoms as the athletes were adapting to a slower pace of game. Great to see a variety of players on court and sticking together as a Squad.
This season will have high and lows due to new members joining our squads, it how we take the high and lows as a team and turn that to success, that is where the Phantoms strengths are we grow together as a solid unit.
Well done Anna B for player of the match !
Sandra Wallace, Head Coach
The Phantoms Senior squad faced Biggar Sparks at Armadale Academy on Saturday,
Although the scoring looks to have been a one sided affair, our head coach could not have been prouder.
Sandra added:
"What a phenomenal match today for the Fife Phantoms against Bigger. Each player had great discipline and worked hard, feel proud of yourselves with the skill set you showed today -
You are all amazing!!!
Well done Amy for player of the match."
Sandra Wallace, Head Coach
With 2 Scottish Cup ties in the space of 4 days, the U15 Phantoms squad welcomed Kinross Flares to Kinghorn Community Centre.
The contest started with Phantoms taking an early lead with some quick footwork and speed across the court which took Kinross by surprise. Quick fire goals from Kate and Charlotte proving that this combination continues to grow in confidence and understanding from each other. This is great to see securing the first quarter by 15 points to 5.
The second quarter started similarly to the first again with great movement from defence through to our shooters again scoring heavily building a lead ready for the third.
We made some changes for the third quarter where Olivia and Charlotte showed another future partnership scoring well and Anna and Emelia also working well together holding off play from Kinross. Violet and Imogen put in a great shift in centre court intercepting play and moving the ball quickly across the court. We took a lead of 38-17 into the fourth quarter.
Kinross kept pushing and started the fourth well. Goals from Jena and Kate continued to add to our score and although an impressive offensive line this was backed by a very impressive defensive display from Emelia, Amber, Freya, Evie & Eilidh as over the four quarters they were excellent and shows the depth and strength we have in our U15 squad.
Although offensively we were amazing and I could have given player of the day to many, I felt the defensive display from Anna was incredible and was my player of the match. Well done Anna.
Next Scottish Cup game is against Cherrybank on the 4th December. We are looking forward to this contest.
Go Phantoms
Bryan McAlpine, U15 Team Manager
Phantoms met Ellon today in our first U15 Scottish Cup tie played at Kilgraston School, Bridge of Earn, Perth.
Phantoms started well in the first quarter with quick fire goals from Kate and Charlotte who worked really well together supported offensively by Imogen and Violet. With great defensive work from Anna, Emilia and Eilidh we took a 10/8 lead into the second quarter.
We started the second quarter similar to the first with Charlotte and Kate taking their chances in front of goal. The communication, movement and support across the court was excellent. Well done girls. Second quarter finished Phantoms 23, Ellon 14.
Ellon took charge in the third and although a couple of goals from Jena, Ellon tied the game at 25 all.
Both sides felt they had enough to take the game and the fourth did not disappoint. A fast paced encounter although Phantoms dug deep and secured the victory 37 points to 35.
A great performance by all although Kate was a fully deserved star player. Her communication, support for others, finding space and movement around the goal proved to be the difference although without the great team behind her this would not be possible.
Well done Phantoms.
Next Scottish Cup game is on the 23rd November versus Kinross.
Bryan McAlpine, U15 Team Manager
Thanks to the U17 Perth City squad who stepped in to play our U15 Phantoms team when Braes cancelled the CNA league match scheduled for today.
Phantoms started extremely well with 4 unanswered goals, two from Kate Wilson and two from Charlotte Marshall. Perth soon put the foot on the gas with excellent ball work and speed down the court securing the first quarter 13 points to 5.
As this was a friendly match we were able to give those players with less experience some court time which was great to see and what a great job they did. Well done to Lana and Robyn in particular who took the court for the U15's for the first time.
Although the final score of 49-7 was in the favour of Perth City, our U15 played some great passes, moved around the court well and defensively did extremely well under pressure from an inspired Perth City Goal Attack.
Our star player was Eilidh Murphy who played 3 of the 4 quarters as GK & GD, Eilidh was under pressure from the start and coped very well, making good interceptions and passing out well from the defensive line. Well done Eilidh.
With a Scottish Cup game with Perth U15 scheduled in December, this gave the Phantoms a great insight into what to expect from a well organised Perth squad.
Thanks again Perth City and well done Phantoms.
Bryan McAlpine, U15 Team Manager
The second game of the season for the Under 13 team saw them face the Stirling Stars. With a
couple of injuries for the Phantoms, Lannah Gilbert put in a brilliant shift in her first game for the
Under 13 team against a strong Stirling side. It was a tough game for the girls who were on court for
the entire match without subs available. What they lacked in numbers, they made up for in
determination and courage.
The Stars opened the scoreline in the first quarter with a quick response from the Phantoms with a
great goal from Amelia Wilson. Stirling responded with a second goal before Emily Baird levelled it up again. Another three goals followed from the Stars with Emily then making it three for the Phantoms, ending the quarter 3-5 for the visitors.
The second quarter saw an impressive spree of goals from Stirling despite some impressive blocks and passes from the Phantoms, unfortunately the score belied the performance of the Phantoms side ending 4-13.
The Phantoms were more successful in the third quarter with Stirling only managing to extend their
score by three and with a brilliant goal from Elise Ryan to add to the Phantoms scoreline, 5-16. The Stirling Stars had three goals in quick succession in the final quarter before Emily Baird responded with a goal for the Fife side and a final effort from the Stirling Stars secured their victory 6-20.
It is clear to see the potential from this Fife Phantoms side who are getting used to playing together as a team. Sophie Provan made some fantastic runs as Centre, Grace Rodgers made excellent blocking shots and Daisy Hutchison with some impressive passing.
Congratulations to Emily Baird as
Player of the Match for the Phantoms for a committed and energetic performance.
Susan Baird, U13 Team Manager
Fife Phantoms seniors were really up against it in this game, court play was fantastic throughout the game, with great passing with speed and accuracy, was amazing to watch.
Phoenix really put on the pressure by body to body contact but the girls kept their heads high by digging in and getting on with the job in hand, every quarter brought out a different performance with more goals getting scored and that shows the adaption in our Fife Phantoms squads.
Third quarter was blown when one of our players got injured and went down to 6 players but despite this they put their heart and soul into this game and carried on. Credit to the Squad.
Player of the Match – Teri Brady
Sandra Wallace, Phantoms Head Coach
In a hard fought game, our CENA squad fell short to an experienced Dunedin Tigers 27-30.
Anna made her first appearance for our CENA squad in a close game across all quarters. Dunedin made some good tactical changes in the third quarter which put our play under pressure.
The girls were tiring towards the end of the last quarter although a super performance from Amy who took our player of the match, congratulations Amy.
Jacqueline Sharp - CENA Team Manager
Sandra Wallace, Head Coach Added:
What a weekend of Netball, Saturday we had the primary squad out and Sunday we had the CENA squad. Unfortunately no win this weekend but Fife Phantoms will come back stronger. What I loved was seeing our newer members taking court and giving it a go, so well done Grace, Katie and Rebecca for the Primary Team and Anna having her first game for CENA.
Go Phantoms!
The Fife Phantoms Primary team were on home ground today for their match against the Stirling
Dragons. For some of the girls it was their debut match and what a fantastic first game they had with
great performances from all the girls that got better with every quarter.
The Stirling Dragons side got off to a flying start with a flurry of goals in the first 6 minutes of the
match thanks to their impressively accurate Goal Shoot.
Mhyrin had a narrow miss for the Phantoms
and the quarter ended with a clear lead for the Dragons.
After some wise words from the Head Coach, the Phantoms returned to the court with renewed
confidence and spirit to deliver a much more even second quarter with a very close shot from
Payton in the first two minutes closely followed by two goals for the Dragons and then a fantastic
goal from Laura in the final minute getting Fife Phantoms onto the score board.
The Phantoms continued their great game play for the third quarter with two narrowly missed goals
from Rebecca. Dragons had again found their scoring form with an impressive tally of 9 goals.
By the final quarter the Phantoms had clearly got into their stride with brilliant performances from
all the girls who won the quarter with ease with three goals from Payton and another from Amelia
with the Dragons only managing to find the net once.
The final scoreline did not reflect the effort
and game play from this young team with the final result 5-23.
This was a really encouraging performance from all the Primary team, especially for the girls who
made their opening appearances.
The Star Player went to Lannah Gilbert who had a truly fantastic game and demonstrated great work ethic in Goal Defence. This promises to be a team with a very
bright future.
Susan Baird - Primary Team Manager
Fife phantoms secured a great victory against Holyrood highlanders winning by 20 points.
It was a great team performance but special mention for Adele Rodgers who was player of the match.
Well done to the CENA Phantoms
Jacqueline Sharp, CENA Team Manager
The Fife Phantoms CENA squad took on the Bass Rocketeers today ending in a 40-40 draw.
Jacqueline Sharp, CENA Team Manager added:
"It was a very close and fast paced game throughout. The girls played well and were determined especially in the last quarter where they came back from 2 behind to finish with a draw."
Player of the match was Violet Campbell.
Well done Phantoms!!
Jacqueline Sharp - CENA Team Manager
My first outing as Team Manager and just so proud of the squad today. The communication, passing, shooting, spaces created and delivery of the ball from defence to attack was slick and at speed, what an amazing team performance.
The first quarter started impressively and we secured a 1-11 start, with Eilidh really taking her opportunities in front of goal. Who would have thought that the majority of our team were U15 versus a strong U17 team.
The second quarter started as the first finished scoring 2 in quick concession. Outstanding play defensively as Stirling started to progress, anticipating the passes and recovering well when possession lost. This quarter finished 2-22 Phantoms.
During the 3rd, communication really stood out from our captain Abby and held the focus as legs started to tire. Rebounding proving to be the difference and retaining our lead 4-28.
Tired legs in the 4th although held on and secured a 6-30 result. Fantastic team spirit and the girls were so proud of themselves. Big shout out to all our U15/U17 squad although player of the match was Eilidh McNicol who showed real class in front of goal, approach play, and delivery.
Go Phantoms!!
Bryan McAlpine - U15 Team Manager
The first rule in life is ‘if you never go after what you want, you’ll never have it.’ The first rule of the
U13s netball team should be ‘if you have seven players due to play your first match of the season,
probably best avoid giant inflatables the day before the match.’ One broken foot later for poor
Amelia and a mad scramble to secure a full team and off to Grangemouth we headed to play a very
strong Perth side. A huge thank you to Maisy for stepping up and sacrificing her coveted Saturday
lie-in to bolster the team.
It was clear from the first whistle that Perth meant business with a goal scored before thirty seconds
had passed. The flurry of goals continued ending the first quarter 0-8 for the Perth side. The Fife
Phantoms regrouped and began the second quarter with determination and spirit with Faye finding
fantastic scoring form with four goals and Grace making a number of excellent intercepting moves.
Perth continued pressing hard and the quarter ended 4-13.
Perth continued their impressive form in the third quarter with three goals early on including a
phenomenal long shot that soared through the air before landing perfectly in the net. The Phantoms
fought hard with some excellent passing and spacing resulting in another two fantastic goals from
Faye to challenge the Perth side who continued with their fine scoring record.
The Phantoms confidence grew as the match progressed with Emily scoring two goals in the final quarter and narrowing missing out on a long shot. Faye’s scoring precision was impressive throughout the game
with another goal in the final quarter. The Perth side on this occasion had the edge with the final
score of 9-26.
The Under 13s played a fantastic game and as a new team worked well together
building upon their performance with each quarter. Congratulations to Player of the Match Grace
Rodgers for her fantastic defensive display.
Susan Baird - U13 Team Manager
Today some girls took to court that have never played in an adult section before and this was shown with some nerves but was settled by the second quarter.
Kinross Cosmos started strongly. In the second quarter we started scoring goals. The second, third and fourth quarter it was a much more contested match.
The girls game came together strongly and showed great determination and resilience.
Star Player: Ruby Jayne Mellon
The first netball game of the season got off to a cracking start with the Primary Team taking on
Kirkcaldy at Grangemouth Sports Complex. The Phantoms took an early lead with a fantastic goal
from Payton just 90 seconds after the starting whistle. Kirkcaldy proved to be a formidable side
equalling up the score to 1-1 after four minutes and then taking lead with another goal less than a
minute later. The second quarter was closely fought with Payton scoring another goal taking the
score back to level before Kirkcaldy took the lead again a couple of minutes later, leaving it at 3-2 at
half time.
Kirkcaldy came out blistering into the third quarter with a goal in the first minute extending their
lead to 4-2 but that didn’t last for long with a great response from the Phantoms with Mhyrin scoring
soon after. Kirkcaldy took the score to 5-3 with four minutes still to go, closely followed by Payton
scoring another great goal with two minutes to spare, narrowing the gap once again. In the last
minute of the quarter Kirkcaldy managed to break through ending the third quarter with a lead of 6-
4.
The final quarter saw another two good goals from the Kirkcaldy side before Phantoms finished the
game with a goal in the last 15 seconds taking the final score to 8-5. It was a great game for all the
girls with some superb netball from the Phantoms with great spacing, accurate passes and an
impressive team spirit throughout the game. A special mention to Kayleigh who had a brilliant game
as Goal Keep intercepting many of Kirkcaldy’s attempts on goal, Payton for her scoring accuracy and
our Player of the Match, Sophie Provan who had a fantastic game showing real commitment and
effort as well as keeping the momentum with encouragement and support for her team mates every
step of the way.
